English map for One Wellness

This gym has state-of-the-art equipment which stands in stark contrast to the refurbished fruit factory and warehouse it resides in. With all the normal gym amenities as well as a yoga studio, seasonal outdoor classes, and café / patio / lounge area for getting foot massages, this gym ensures that you'll never want to leave.

Don't get what you pay for. Staff always closing the gym early, lack of variety of exercise equipment, no pool, no sauna, no hot tubs, shower heads not very nice, most of the classes sub par, mats are not sanitary as they do not have an anti bacterial spray after people sweat all over them (heck, they aren't even wiped off half the time), smoking staff, smelly bathrooms, out of service smoothie bar, don't have wifi when they say they do, On the bright side: good location in jing'an, good pilates class with a guy that has tats, not crowded Onewellness, if you see this please work on your issues.

  • paulplaus

It is not very high standard, especially if you look, what you pay for. Superrrrr overpriced. They only think in your money, they call u 1000 times just to give u special price. They are not serious people!!! 6+1 mouth 5000 after 4500 after 4000 next 6 mouth 2000 is this nornal??? Do they think am I stupid??? No way!!! In my country for that price...U have amazing gym!!! Gym for Expats!!!!!!!

Carlonseider, yes I surely mean One Welness. I don't know what level of gym you have joined before, but this is not very high standard, especially if you look at what you pay for. Look at the two other reviews written right after mine - overpriced and bad management examples - I fully agree. I am at the gym 5 times a week and I notice every detail and how they run this place. There is no management there, just some locals who sits there and watch you come and go. Manager sits in her office and doesn't have a clue what's going on. Showers has no good water pressure and rooms are always cold. Most of the lockers are broken. Compare their classes with other high-end gyms and you will find that what OW offers is simply not good enough. All in all, this gym is simply not good enough for me, so I will surely invest in a new membership in one of the new hotels.

7,888.00 for one year membership and 1,500.00 for one month use? Over over over over priced !!!

Horribly, horribly managed. I guess this is because there does not seem to be a manager ever around. Only some young girls that would rather be playing on their cell phone than help you. This gym is definitely going downhill. Atmosphere is quite depressing. Always get a locker room key to a locker that is broken, so I have to return it to get a new one. Of course the girl will always put the old key back in the drawer so the next person will have to come back and do the same. Can't wait for my membership to expire so I can join the new Kerry gym that will be opening up.

Peterbush, are you sure you mean Onewellness? I totally disagree with what you say. They have lots of great classes, the staff are friendly, and the changing rooms cleaned constantly.

    - Best machines for sure but all too crowded - Management is terrible - Classes are few and not very good - Shower and changing rooms sucks In general this place is overpriced so if you wanna join a professional Gym where you have better options on classes + better service, then go for something else. Some of the newly opened hotels have great facilities + service.

Fantastic gym with the best equipment in Shanghai that is desperately, desperately in need of Western management. In the hope that the folks at One Wellness are reading this, here are just a few of the things that stop this from being an excellent gym: 1. Cleaners asleep in the locker rooms...all the time 2. Front-desk staff dressed up as lumberjacks and playing on their phones constantly 3. A cafe that has no food 4. Chinese soap operas playing on the tv in the cafe 5. TVs with no signal on the gym machines On the other hand, what One Wellness is doing well: 1. Great trainers 2. Fantastic Weights equipment 3. Great environment All the other stuff, One Wellness, sort it out...please, just go get a Western manager that knows how a gym is run.

it's actually a showcase for Technogym, whose office is in the renovated factory building behind the gym. So, you can bet that the equipment will be well maintained ... as long as Technogym doesn't build another showroom.

Hi All, I am already sold on how amazing this gym sounds like, and am just wondering if you know how much it is for a monthly membership, if I intend to be there for longer than a year? Cheers!

  • lofdaj

One of the reasons that I joined the gym is because they open early -- 6:00 am. So I arrived at the gym at 6:10 today, but found the door locked. I saw one of the staff arriving at the same time and she disappeared around back, so I figured I would walk around the block while they got the place opened up. Came back at 6:25 and the door was still locked. Went back home and checked how much longer it is until my membership expires.

If you don't need a pool, probably the best gym in Shanghai, period.

..."however neither simulates the movement of a free-standing squat rack or power cage; or a leg press or hack squat that uses plates as opposed to pulleys" I agree with that, do not think they have the space. It is a good club though even with their very small shortcomings, so small many can live with. I would rather have the cleanliness, great friendly service, good freindly management and music than a squat rack any day of the week.

  • fatcow

don't mean to nitpick too much there crunch and I know there is a smith machine for squats and a machine press...however neither simulates the movement of a free-standing squat rack or power cage; or a leg press or hack squat that uses plates as opposed to pulleys. Despite this it is by far the best gym I have been to in SH.

The equipment is a year old they just keep it looking like new, as they do with every other part of the club. They do have a leg press and a smith machine for squats, i am amazed the place is soooo clean its refreshing. I can not wait for the warmer weather so i can laze/work on the patio.

It is a beautiful space and the equipment is brand new. 4 stars only because the free weights are limited; no squat rack, hack or sled. Otherwise no complaints.

Joined today - workout for the first time here tomorrow. Was forced to find a new gym when Fitness First closed last week. So far One wellness seems super professional, very high tech and I love that they offer some classes outdoors!

One of the best little clubs i have ever seen, great equipment all hooked up to little computers, some equipment i have never seen before called kinesis. The building is fantastic with great design a wooden ceiling, a real oasis of relaxation, a yoga studio with outdoor classes in summer, a cafe and lounge area with large flat screen televisions, a large sun deck. The place is a design marvell and very reasonably priced and will have a strictly limited mambershp so i was told. I am Joining this one even though my other gym memebrship has six months left its too good to miss.
