Get your hair cut and styled to look effortlessly French by this award-winning high-end salon. The Shanxi Lu location features a luxurious (and neurotically clean) interior decked with leather chairs, spotless mirrors, brand name hair products and very focused stylists, though be ready to pay for the quality.
From my entry into the salon, the first shampoo, a haircut, shampoo number two, and then a blow dry, I was in and out of there in 30 mins. I think I spent more time being shampooed than the actual time this hairdresser spent on my hair. I don't know what his reason for rushing was, one too many espressos perhaps. Day time cold medicine? Whatever it was this guy was manic and I've unwillingly left about 10lb of hair on the floors of Frank Provost. My usual stylist (who was out of time and happens to be much cheaper) is much much better. I have never seen anyone speed through a haircut so fast. What a colossal waist of RMB 240. My ayi could have done better.

Go in and ask for Emma. She will shape your messy, 14-year-old-boy haircut into something slightly more appropriate for someone who is neither 14 nor a pre-pubescent boy. Oh, yes.
It's my first time to come to Franck Provost.I have had an appointment with the assistant before I come there.I love what they have done with this place. And Tommy was my stylist that day.Tommy is very patient, unlike those stylist who have trimmed my hair from my childhood. He is responsible in work.Well..I'm 16 years old. Then He told me I'm the youngest guest there.≧▽≦LOL I believe in him. That's not only because he is the expert but also I was satisfied with his patience&condescension. I'm happy to have his recommendation. All in all,I'll go there next time. :-))
I'm a French girl. I first wenth there few months ago with a Chinese friend, and we were both really satisfied. I have tried many different hair salons in Shanghai before, but now I'm a regular customer of Franck Provost. Friendly staff, really nice hair cuts, I just love going there !
no thx.. i am staying with my favrot guy.shwan..all my girls love hem to.
Well Nikolas, I suggest you come back and see for yourself! ;-) there are 3 great french hairstylists at Franck Provost, specialized in haircuts and in color. And the chinese hairstylists have received great training from them apparently! I went back with my friends there on a friday evening and ask for fun hairdoes to go clubbing! they did a great job! i recommend this ladies: there's nothing to put yourself into a party mood than go have a shampoo-blowdry for 100rmb on a friday evening!
i was there my self few monthsago i had my hair cut with canadian guy hes name was shan he did in amazing cut &color.but he left ..and i just found hem so i am happy..and i dont trust anyone at frank provost ..
For a long time, I felt like there was nobody I could trust in SH, hair dye-wise... I am blond, which is not easy for chinese hairdressers to dye sometimes. Usually, I would get out of a hairdresser with orange hair and curls, and tears running down my face...Some months ago, I discovered Franck Provost on Shaanxi Lu, which lately recruited some english and french speaking staff to avoid communication problems... I got an appointment with Bernard, who worked in France for many years and knows how to deal with my hair color. He suggested a dye and some highlights on top. The result was amazing. I seriously recommend Franck Provost for its great service and its very nice staff!
oh I Forget to say do not i mean do not color you'r hair at frank provost

Been there just yesterday and I don't know if it was the stylist or the language barrier but the haircut was a huge disappointment when compared to the Salons in Europe...I would never go there again:-(
