小汤山,昌平区,九华山庄旁
Of all the hot springs hotel in Changping, this is the least tacky. The main pool is done up like a tropical rain forest, while the 50 private suites all feature private dipping pools in the back and chaise lounge chairs. They offer an array of healing baths, including aloe, herbal and milk.
If your ideal hot spring involves soaking in a pool of other people's dead skin, sandwiched between a man hocking a loogie into the water and woman chomping on an apple half spitting bits into the pool, then Longmai is the place for you. That's just the tip of the iceberg. Don't get me wrong, being Chinese American, I'm all about China lovin' with a grain of salt, but I draw the line with Longmai's dirty bathrooms with clogged drains as you wade through ankle-deep bits of hair and who knows what else. Unfortunately, Cityweekend had no real user reviews to go off of before I went, so be warned, this was not a soothing, stress-free hot springs experience.
