Apple's flagship outlet in China, this three-story, 995 sq. meter shop of beautifully designed digital gadgetry is an awesome testament to the power of technology in contemporary culture. The store is impressively designed and staffed with an army of knowledgeable salespeople.
JUST A SHOWROOM ! DON'T BUY ANYTHING THERE. The customer service is so bad there. I went there to repair my imac. Have you already seen the box of an iMac 27' ? It's not that easy to carry around. When I arrived at the so called "Genius bar", they asked me to grab a ticket and to wait. I waited 90min and I left, furious. You pay for Apple Care, you pay for a product that is much more expensive than any other, so you're expecting a quality service, except you end up waiting with a ticket in your hand just like in the bank and being served by people who are far away from geniuses and who are making no difference between someone who needs help installing Angry Birds on their iPad and those with real hardware problems. I finally went to an unofficial store in BuyNow where I got served in English in 1 minute and my problem was solved in 25min.
One of the best places to get Apple hardware in Beijing, but watch out for that checkout line! 2 years after my original review, I still find myself waiting long periods to pay for things, plus having to fight queue jumpers. Had a bad experience last night where the "Genius" behind the counter was spending his time chatting with a customer (not buying anything, just asking questions). Standing in line behind this customer turned out to be a mistake as a bunch of other customers charged ahead of the queue and ended up getting service first. The "Genius" just served whoever shoved goods into his face first. No sense of order.
Very helpful.My ipod developed a problem. I wasnt sure if they would fix it as it was a little over a 1 year old and overused. I was immediately given help someone guiding to the second floor and since the guy was free he offered to fix it immediatley. Superb service. Loved It.
The Apple store is the ONLY place in Beijing or for that matter China (until they open in Shanghai) to buy anything Apple. Best range, best prices and superb staff. I just bought 2 Mac book Pros for my sons last week only to hear that the new upgraded Pro has just been released. So I went back to ask about this and was instantly offered a full refund so I could get them the new machines. No hesitation at all. Imagine if we had bought the MB Pros at Buy Now?? All the people working at The Apple store are well informed, smart and incredibly helpful. Is it any wonder why everyone who makes the move to Mac loves Apple so?? Faultless.
Lots of hardware to try out, large selection of accessories - definitely the place to go when you want all things Apple. Their staff are also pretty helpful - as long as you can get their attention. They seem to be victims of their own success. There are just too many people trying to get the attention of their staff. My biggest problem with this store is when you're checking out - the lines may seem short, but you wait forever. It takes a _long_ time to process even a single purchase. It can take several minutes for a single accessory paid in cash. There's something seriously wrong with their checkout procedure. In summary, great place to shop but if you go during peak hours, expect to spend a long time waiting for service.
I enjoyed the apple store. Big selection, knowledgeable staff, bright atmosphere. But, when i was told that all accessories were half price that day, except the two items i inquired about, i felt the old sense of Beijing-past seeping out. Pity, creates a bad impression on Apple.
