The first aquarium in Beijing is home to 7,800 sq. meters of undersea world and Asia's longest (120 meters) undersea walk. It features mini-lectures on marine life on weekends and 20 exhibition tanks filled with sharks, eels, piranhas and even endangered species.
Sorry, but I like the Beijing Aquarium much better which has more to see and do, and my kids were able to swim with the dolphins. The Blue Zoo was a big disappointment for us. We would have had more fun at the library!
Plus: Main aquarium was very well maintained (compared to the one next to the Beijing zoo), with happy looking residents! We went during feeding time, so it was quite surprising to some fishes had the luxury of being picky eaters :) Minus: Secondary/ smaller aquariums are in desperate need for resizing... too many mid-sized turtles - barely enough space to swim & one already started to develop stress-behaviour - snapping at a water outlet repeatedly. The sawfishes are obviously too long for their space, seeing em reversing to make a U-turn whilst trying not to hit against the glass with their already blistered noses was heartbreaking.
To be honest, it was quite disappointing when i walked into Blue Zoo. It is said the undersea walk is the longest, but i feel it was not as long as i've imagined coz before i've been to Changsha's. The atmosphere is not good enough.
