But it's the owner's meticulous attention to detail - from the perfectly round ice cubes to the delicate lighting - that makes Ichikura unlike any other place in Beijing.

If it gets crowded during the weekend , I dont like it. Other times I like because the drinks are made really well. You can make some japanese friends here.

A welcome hot towel just like what you get when you walk into a bar in Japan. This fancy whiskey bar makes good classic cocktails and have a great selection of whiskey.
When in mood for whisky either Glen or this place. This place is also one of my favourite specially when have a friend to chat and enjoy the whisky. The glasses, the ice, the lighting everything is good.
Ichikura lived up to is expectations...the bar is very intimate with mood lighting and great selection of whiskeys. Perhaps what made Ichikura stand out in my memory forever was the special attention paid in making the drinks we ordered, a 12 year Yamazaki on the rocks and a New York cocktail. The whiskey was served over a single perfectly spherical ice cube that fit inside the short glass perfectly. I loved how the light underneath the bar lit up the drinks as they were being poured out. Ichikura is a hidden gem especially with its rather sketchy location and entrance...but I will definitely be back.
I didn't drink whiskey until I set my foot in this heaven-sent place.
I never would have expected this place right on the side of Chaoyang Theater! 5+ stars for ambiance. Sitting at the bar in the comfortable leather seats and listening to Japanese being spoken all around me, I felt like I had wandered into a Murakami novel. However, I was fairly disappointed with my mojito -- next time I'd stick to the whiskey.

Nice spot for a quiet drink, very intimate and hence a good place to bring that special someone. There's an attentive and friendly staff who can mix a mean mojito or lychee martine (with fresh lychee!). It's dimly lit, and with the music as a pleasant whisper in the background I found the atmosphere just right. 素晴らしい
