203 Taiyue Suites, 16 Sanlitun Nanlu,Sanlitun
三里屯南路16号,太悦203室,三里屯
Modeled after Japan’s finest whisky bars, this Sanlitun South Street masterpiece brings a level of class and detail absent from even the city’s most upmarket venues. The Japanese bartender shops daily for fresh ingredients and hand-carves ice to custom fit cocktails and single malts served in fine crystal. Needless to say, the whisky selection is unparalleled.
Nice interior but location is quite bad. The cocktails were average.Staff is caring. That night, there were too many noisy businessmen (from the hotel next door?) but on a lucky day it would be a "cosy" place. I didn't try the whisky but they have a nice collection. I will go back but won't get a cocktail.
This place has pretty average drinks for its price and it's not really a great hangout for friends or that impressive for dates. It's too stuffy and pretentious.
Expensive and bad drinks if you're not into whisky. Kinda boring atmosphere.
Absolutely love this place. If you prefer your drinks rowdy and cheap, bar street is just around the corner. Head here for a relaxed and classy experience, impressive attention to detail on the drinks and impeccable service. Coming here for the first time over a year ago is what got me into whiskey in the first place – the passion of Glen owner and his mixologist proved quite contagious. Which is not to say that I don’t often branch out into the mixes or growing wine list as well. Having since sampled what else the BJ bar and club scene has to offer, Glen still feels most like home. A great place for a post-dinner or pre-night out drink, or the ubiquitous night cap.
realllly expensive drinks, hard to find, weird old people crowd, no music
80 RMB for a mojito that barely had any rum in it and was full of ice and lime pulp. Trying to unwind on a Friday night and have a good time with my friends but to make it worse, the bartender came over to tell us to shut up. We were definitely pretty civil and not being overly loud or rude, but he came over and shushed us like we were school kids in a library! Really not sure if I'll be heading back.
Never been disappointed here. Though slighly expensive the drinks are original and the service cool. Everyone knows best whisky selection in Beijing.
Finally made it to Glen! Excellent service, great ambiance, fantastic drinks. It's pretty pricey (whisky-based cocktails are all RMB70-80), but I do like expensive, perfectly made drinks. Will definitely return!
I like the place and the owner too for having a passion for his collection of whiskies and his bar. Original stuff here.
Great place to go after a long day at work. Wilfred is happy to make a drink recommendation and the staff is always attentive. Oh and the bar snacks are addicting too..
Love going here for the mixed drinks and when there are some people with me . One of my favourite places when you want to chat in a quiet place and great enviornment.
Fantastic selection of whisky and whiskey ;) the attention to detail on the cocktails is worth the wait. Make sure you come with deep pockets !
What the Tree is for Beers, Glen is for Whisky. This doesn't mean they have the greatest selection of them (this i don't know, there might be bars with longer whisky list in the city), but that the selection is great and that Glen is a fabulous place to enjoy them. quiet, peronal, smoky (both whisky and the place), nice... I like single malts, but guys, do try some serious mixes... it's well worth it
One friend didn't want to join our crowd at Glen using the "I don't drink whiskey" excuse. So we ordered her a martini and man, did she have a happy smile on her face after the first sip. This place is perfect: sleek and quiet, ideal to sit around with friends and talk for hours, fired up by the whiskey and martinis.
really a place of your own, not something to "share", so dont you dare spread the message around :) Setting is simple and intimate, a place I really fave to catch up with friends, just the chatter sound in background and yet not so noisy. Whiskey list as long as you can get, probably the most complete whiskey you can get in Beijing. Best of all are the crystal glass, once you've bought them it become yours and they will remember which glass is yours the next time you visit your old bar. Remember "dont tell" anyone else :)
small. private. quiet. its a gem, in a city full of loud noisy, bars. you feel very taken care of. the owner makes a point to get to know you on a first name basis and teach you the ropes of drinking fine whisky. if you're really into it - buy your glass and keep it there! i love this place - please don't tell any of your friends about this place tho - because you'll ruin it! haha
Hey Dude, If you like whiskey, this is THE place in Beijing to go. Glen has an amazing selection of whiskeys, and they can always make quality recommendations. They also mix the finest martini in town. If you don't mind burning a few kuai, you will fall in love with Glen.
Beijing has finally found the best little whisky bar. The selection and the attention to detail puts this whisky bar well above the rest of any 5 star hotels in Beijing. They have made serving drinks into an art form. The decor, ambiance and service is stunning great and to perfection. Although it is a little hard to find, but it makes it so rewarding when you do find it. The prices are slightly high, but perfection is what you get.
sorry, I mean snacks! no snake are serving here!
As the owner of the bar, I treasure the comment of every single costumer weather it’s extremely good or extremely bad. Please understand we are still at the very beginning stage of our business, mistakes-yes, we truly apologize for the unsatisfied experience. The menu was improved with price list already; the cover charge of 30yen for snakes also shows on the menu now. Not trying to compare with anyone but we’ll work hard to make Glen the best bar in Beijing.
I had to pick 3 different cocktails until the barman finally accept to make what i ask... No price on the list, was told 60rmb then get charged 100rmb for a cocktail? Had to argue again... is this Ya Show? Cocktails where nothing exceptional. Won't go back. Go to Ichikura if you want a 5 star spot instead.
Unbelievable attention to detail, the best whisky selection in Beijing and some of the best cocktails to boot.
