It would be difficult to prepare a drink list or train a wait staff worthy of this bar's 65th floor, 360-degree vista, but the Park Hyatt has done both. The drink list includes over 440 wines, the bartenders mix cocktails to perfection, and the service is polite and attentive but never intrusive. China Bar is Beijing nightlife at its peak.
Expensive, but then it attracts an elite crowd. The live music is fantastic. I'd go back just for the jazz singer. Service is great, and the olives and seeds are somehow extremely addictive.
Its ok , I guess for people that have not traveled allot its a big deal.. but atmosphere on the 88 floor will blow them of the map
Extraordinary Place. I have had a Yamazaki Whisky on the rock with Highland effect. It is a bar at a really high level with everything. Enjoy and have fun!
Classy, upscale, place. Great Views.Good cocktails. Selection of wines was another thing that made us choose some good wine. Just the place to drink with someone special or friend. Its expensive sure, but worth for the view and the 5 star experience.
China Bar easily makes the best Sidecars in Beijing ... possibly in China, though the jury is still out on that claim. I am impressed by the views, but you've got a better chance of getting hit by lightening than showing up at China Bar on a clear night in Beijing to truly appreciate sitting in the highest bar in the city and taking in the skyline. You go for the experience ... but that's it.
enjoy a drink in the bar before dinner, but make sure that you make a reservation if you come back as after 9 you cannot find even a seat at the bar. But speak with the Italian Manager that he can assist you in finding even a spot when looks so impossible to find a seat. Drink top class the Mojito just to die for and the Cosmopolitan is just great. Wines plenty of selection. try the greece white or the australian shiraz from victoria...what a list...compliment to the sommelier...
Entrance of the hotel and the way up the elevators to get here was interesting- made you anticipate much more than what was at the top. I asked for a gimlet and they didn't know what that was, even after asking the guy at the bar making the drinks. I ended up getting a mojito.
This place is very elegant and the service is impeccable as you would expect. Very impressive wine and whisky selection. Not cheap by any means but worth paying a premium for the view. The cocktail list was a little light. Centro seem to have far more choices. The margarita was bland but the matador and the daquiri saved the day. Alas, the band failed to impress and got a little depressing with their song choices. However, we did get a nice sofa and for no charge. Maybe because I knew the meet and greet lady from my misspent youth in Centro! All in all a great place, but by no means the total perfection you should expect from Hyatt.
For me the most memorable evening. my mojito was just the best...the barman made 7 mojito for our group and all of them were just a art work…. We started with some wines; they have over 30 wines by the glass, that is almost impossible to find so many options with even a Greek Hungarian wine by the glass. Must try. incredible…
sorry cant agree with most of the above comments, maybe just a bad day for chinabar yesterday. Cocktails were not a bit like it should have been. we had a mojito, champagne mojito and a kir royale. drinks were really far away from how they should be. my impression was that the service team was happy to work at such a nice place, but forgot all about the service. music was so lala
I went here with a friend from 530-730pm on a weekday, and it was basically empty except the two of us. We sat at the bar, watched the sunset, and enjoyed the truly fantastic cocktails (most are around 70-90 RMB, not unreasonable) and awesome complimentary olives. One of the most elegant bars in Beijing. The young CBD set would turn out in force for classy drinks in such a gorgeous setting if they weren't made to feel like cheap-wads for not wanting to pay the per-table minimum (which was thousands of RMB) to sit at the nice (EMPTY!!) tables. This place should cut the crap and get rid of the minimum during happy hour M-Th (and other times when the place is totally EMPTY). Young professionals don't blow 2000 RMB at happy hour on Tuesday, but they do generate buzz.
Great view, good service and great cocktails. Their Irish Coffee was one of the best I've ever had. Their Long Islands and Mojitos are also well mixed enough that no one tasted the alcohol. Not exactly the traditional formulation but good. A little pricey though. They have a non-trivial minimum charge if you want to sit at the sofas. Still, you get what you pay for.
Stunning views. Thoughtful layout. Attentive service. I don't think I could sound more like a shill if I tried. Still, the basic point is that this place is in a class by itself. The premium you pay is worth every last cent. Absolutely fantastic place to take a lady friend for a spot of high-altitude wooing.
Simply great. Wish could be a little more action but I guess it will take up once people discover this great place.
