Luxury and decadence collide at this palace of relaxation where they've dug 2,500 meters down to tap into a hot spring below Beijing. Sure to be an amazing experience.

Arrived in good health; left with food poisoning and skin irritations. When I went back to inform them (I assumed they would want to know if people are getting sick from the place) and was instantly told it was impossible that I had become sick from their food, their kitchen is one of the cleanest in the city; and as for my skin reactions, I must have had an allergy to something outside. Somehow I knew I might get this kind of answer, but thought I'd at least tell them. If they choose to bury their heads in the sand and ignore it, then so be it. Just a warning.

We arrived just after midnight, though quiet, had no warning about the fact that pretty much only some spa's and one sauna was left turned on. All the water features were turned off, as well as various steam rooms. After complaining to the manager, the only offer was that they will be turned off the next morning at 6am. 30minutes into our semi-relaxation, they brought in a jackhammer and started construction works next to the fish pond where we were happily eaten by the little fish. To which they offered their apology and that they do 'regular' constructions as if that were a better answer! We demanded a discount or money back, anything but just a verbal apology, as half of the entry steam rooms were not available, and the buffet food and drink bars were closed. Then the manager offered to 'recommend' us a good masseuse, to which we had to of course pay normally like everyone else. After much bargaining, we received 30% off and walked out that door before heading for any more massages. Word of warning, don't go after midnight and expecting to have the same quality as all other hours, and still be expected to pay the same rate. In fact, don't go at all, try the other spas recommended here.

I just went to this place and the price and service do not compare. The base price is Rmb 158 and then you pay for extras. Its a very local place with few foreigners and the staff have next to no English. The bath / spa level is good if you dont mind strutting around in the nuddie. The small skin eating fish pool is worth a try. The restaurant on level 2 has a reasonable buffet, but the service is really bad. They parked me at a table with a filthy filthy table cloth from other people and thought nothing of it. After a feed that made me feel sick after looking at the table cloth I went up stairs and tried a massage. I picked what was supposed to be the top shelf "windsor" massage at Rmb 598. This massage was very bad and the massuse ran out of time leaving with only half of the second leg done. Seriously the massage you get from Dragonfly, Oriental Taipan and Bohdi leave this place for dead (and they are much cheaper). I suggest if you get the chance try the Yuan Spa in the new Hyatt on the Bund in Shanghai.

English speaking staff limited, but the place is so opulent, I'm sure your sister and mother will have no trouble with the service or settings.

Do you know if this place has English speakers? Thinking of sending my Mom and Sister out there for the day...

**Lavish & Expensive** _I would like more info on services and cost of this bathhouse, and how much fun can this place be. also if you have anyother places like this that is on the higher end of the scale_ - City Weekend Reader Request It's hard to think what this place doesn't offer. It is by far the most lavish and clean bath house in Beijing that we have encountered. We highly recommend it. The price is 128 for entry and buffet. All other items are additional i.e. massages, etc. Bills can get pretty high depending on your budget.
