This popular café and wine bar from Shanghai offers an extensive and very affordable wine list, although by-the-glass options are limited. There's also a changing menu of salads, sandwiches and tapas. The lighting is pleasant, the music relaxed and the seating comfortable. Daily and weekly wine promotions are particularly appealing.
With some friends, we tried the promotion: 200 yuans a bottle of wine and tapas. Wine selection is good if you want to drink red wine or white wine. But there is just a bottle of "rosé", from Chili. I hoped a Cote du Rhone from South of France, anyway, wine was okay. Tapas, free, but not spanish tapas, and taste is okay, nothing really great. I will try an another time because the service was friendly and I think there good stuff there.
We had Sunday brunch there recently. Place was quiet with only four or five tables occupied. Service was efficient and friendly. We sat indoor although outdoor seating would be ideal once it gets warmer. The set brunch menu was interesting. We had the enoterra brunch which was the most comprehensive of all the set menus. I think it was slightly over RMB100 for this set. Came with a free juice too. Would go again soon but next time, we would try dinner and also outdoor seating.
The Croque Monsieur--a humble, traditional French snack. Basically an open faced sandwich with cheese. The question: Petite Gourmand or Enoterra's? I've now had both. My verdict is LPG. The cheese was more generous at LPG ("smothered" is a word I would use). The bread a little doughier. Eno's is solid, but doesn't beat LPG's.
Dear Mr. Hladnik: Your apology is duly noted and accepted. I'm very pleased with your quick response and I'm happy to learn that actions were taken. I wish all restaurants would take matters in its hands and pay this kind of attention to what is buzzing about their business, like you just did. This kind of service does deserve a 5 star review. Thank you,
Dear meguminosa, I’d first like to thank you for bringing out the areas where we need to make improvements. It is customers’ recommendations and complaints that help us grow and improve. Again, my apologies and please rest assured that we are taking all measures necessary to improve our overall service and offer. Sincerely, Tomaz Hladnik Enoterra group Operations Director
My experience at Enoterra tonight was very disappointing. I ordered the salmon sandwich, in which in its description it said it came with avocado. No, let me correct that, it actually says ", avocados,...". So, naturally, when the sandwich came and after a couple of bites without noticing any, I opened to confirm that in fact there weren't any. After asking if the sandwich is supposed to come with avocado (a nice way of asking "where is it???"), the headwaitress (or manager?) told me she was going to find out about it. She did only after I asked her again after almost 10 minutes of waiting. At that moment, the place was full so I was still being very understanding. She came back to point out that the avocado was in the sauce. A white sauce. I told her that the sauce is white, and since avocados are green, if there were any in that sauce it would show, and that I'm Mexican, and this fruit is from my country so... well, I know. She said she understood, and that she also put avocado in her salads (?) so she was going to find out, and she took my sandwich away. Third time around and she came back with my sandwich, a little saucer with some more of the mayo/tartar sauce, and a piece of avocado in a place. She started by saying to my friend instead of to me: "I'm trying to explain to this lady..." and then she began some silly explanation that they put 30% of avocado in that sauce, and because of the lights, you can't see how green it really is, but she would turn on the lights for me if I wanted to see. By this moment, and after her "this lady" and rest of her "explanation" I was mad and just told her that it wasn't necessary. She left the extra sauce but not the avocado. Now, I'm Mexican, and was in a table with other 3 Mexicans. My grandfather was a big avocado producer, so who the hell was she trying to fool?? Maybe she meant 30% of ONE avocado in a whole big bowl and then maybe I'd believe that it had some. It definitely didn't taste like avocado, as we could all tell by trying the sauce by itself (again, 4 Mexicans at the table). And not even with a lamp the sauce looked remotely greenish. But what really made me write this review was her way of treating me like I'm either blind or drunk, which, with the slooooow flow of wine tonight was just impossible to achieve. My recommendations: One, change the description of that sandwich. Two: If I'm asking for it, then put some. I know avocado is expensive in China, but if you're offering at as an ingredient, a premium one considering its price, then DO put the thing on the freaking sandwich, even if it is to avoid the complaining costumer feeling cheated. Three, perhaps most important, do not EVER treat your costumers like they are dumb or drunk in front of their friends/guests. That's just a big NO-NO. I will go back (I still like their other stuff), but stick to free wine and will be stingy in my next order of food just like they were with mine.
The grand opening of the new location was held last night and many of the city's F&B heads were there. But you didn't need to be an expert to see this place is legit. The big chalkboard wine menus are hung up at eye level on the walls and all have headers like "Sensual" "Hedonist" etc to capture the wines listed. Simple concept and finally now in the right place. The opening was packed, this place will do extremely well.
Being a big fan of Enoteca in the Place i was sceptical about their move to noisy sanlitun. However, visiting the place on their opening night last Thursday i was forced to change my mind. The new Enoteca is simply amazing. Great design and the wibe was just awsome. You could see guest had a great time, atmosphere was relaxed and service was good as always. The food menu sports some new items and me and my friends have opted for the most expensive item on the menu, the chef's platter. It's a mix of allmost the entire menu stuffed onto one huge plate, enough for a group of three (or two seriously hungry) people. The location is in the heart of sanlitun, but being on the 4th floor of Nali patio it feels conveniently secluded and special. For sure the new hotspot in Sanlitun. I just hope it won't get into their heads as with many other places.
Shanghai Pub for the wine
Enoteca is a great place to meet and chat with friends or for a first date. The cheese platter was amazing especially when accompanied with the sweet white wine. This restaurant reminds me of when I'm on vacation in Vancouver! Its cozy and warm while its soooo cold outside. The live music was amazing too...Enoteca is definitely an ALL-in-ONE!
If you go to The Place, Enoteca is on the north side, covered by glass and in the middle of the stairs up to the mall. It's extremely easy to find!
Hi there, could you tell me the place of F1-M102 area?cause we cant find the way to going!
We checked out the brunch last weekend and found the food surprisingly good for a wine bar. You can pick between 3 different set menus and as we could not pick between the American plate or the Enoteca plate, we shared both. The American plate came with eggs benedict with your choice of ham or salmon, 2 sausage links, 2 strips of bacon, really delicious pesto mushrooms, hashed browns and a salad. The Enoteca plate came with a cheese and cold cut plate, quiche, an egg, a very rich and yummy salmon tartare, a "bread basket". Both came with your choice of juice. As they are running a special in January where if you add 100rmb, you can add free flow prosecco to your brunch, Enoteca is a great alternative to the hotel brunches if you're like me and more interested in the drinking aspect of Sunday brunch. Basically for 220rmb, you can have a very generous meal and all the bubbly you want.
nice decent tapas. Crab salad was good, and their pumpkin soup just perfect for cold winter.
I joined a large party of ladies at Enoteca last friday and we had a fabulous time. Not only is the wine very reasonably priced, but the food was excellent. We enjoyed the grilled potato skewers, the cheese salad, crab salad on radish and the cured meat platter. The wines ranged from the 98RMB house bottle and upwards, with many solid choices within the 150RMB range. I highly recommend sitting on the second floor terrace and enjoying the big screen show while the weather is still good. The management is very attentive, especially for a large party. I'll be back!
I am no expert, but I know a good deal when i see one. A friend of mine suggested meeting for a bottle of wine and he proposed Enoteca in The Place. Since I haven't really been there before I insisted on Centro, but luckily my friend was stubborn enough to drag me there. This place is great. They have a great selection of wines at very very reasonable prices (I would say the best in the City) and we opted for a nice Pinotage at 153RMB – for the price, it was a steal. Manager seemed nice enough and he was more than willing to share some information with us and basically told us that the idea of Enoteca is to sell wines at retail prices and charge no corkage fee to drink them in their lounge. He also mentioned they have just changed the menu and they are therefore offering 50% off on all the food items trough-out the month of August! Needles to say me and my friend filled up on their cheese cold cuts and an interesting pork curry thingy. I think Enoteca is on a good way to become my favourite destination.
Definetely the best value for money Wine option in Beijing. A lot of bottles in the 100-150RMB range and they are well worth it. The Tapas menu is expensive and though not the cheapest, the Lamb pie and the Duo of Tartares (salmon and tuna tartare with wasabi) were worth every penny. Well done!
Very good wines, very good food and very good live music. Recommended.
Enoteca’s an honest to goodness wine bar, something Beijing is lacking. The lounge has a cool feel to it, very international, and the music is very chill. There are plenty of good bottles on offer for below RMB200 and they have an excellent rose that is great on a hot summer day. A great spot to sit with a bottle of wine and good friends and while away a night.
This place is great. I went there Friday night and they had a French jazz band playing. We ordered a bottle of great Chardonnay at a very affordable price. The wine list was extensive giving us a good range of both inexpensive and pricier wines. The food menu is just as good...we didn't really explore the Tapas menu but got what I'd call a european "grilled cheese" (duo of croque). Sadly, it didn't come with a bowl of Campbells tomato soup but it was one of the best hot sandwiches I have ever had. Recommended!
Great food, great atmosphere, great wine. I love the Shanghai location and was eager to see what the Beijing one had to offer. The Place is a bit random, but at least it's interesting!
Great for a spot of people watching as you lounge about over glasses of wines although the tapas was a little uninspiring. Friends held their private wedding party here which was cosy and intimate, but going to the restroom is abit of a hassle in winter.
managed by a French team who offers nice New World wines REally a nice place
Very cool wine bar / lounge / cafe / coffee shop with a great view of street in The Place. Very tasty tapas and great wine.
