  Very good food at the foot of the Great Wall. It's on the pricey side (RMB100 for a cheeseburger) but the quality is top notch. They've had the same chef for years and its pays off in consistency. A lot of the veggies are sourced locally. Go for the homemade ice cream, it's fab.

  Great place to rest after a hike up at the Great Wall. Food is quite good, but Coffee is to be improved. However, the ambience is fantastic - sitting outside at a terrace outside a school yard!

  I'm sitting out here right now watching family after family stop by and load up on the excellent dishes--anything from heaping plates of pasta to a fantastic burger. Jim Spear and co have done it up absolutely perfectly. If you're looking for wild Great Wall to go wild Great Wall, if you're looking for anything else, come here.

  My wife and I ate dinner at the Schoolhouse. The weather was great, so we were able to dine outdoors (take a sweater, as it cools off in the evening). The staff was excellent, the food was delicious and the other diners were great conversationalists. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
