Firmly established on the tourist trail, this courtyard restaurant packs in the Peking duck fans. The duck is roasted in front of your eyes and is well worth the hassle of trying to find the place. The rest of the menu is merely adequate, though, and service can be lackadaisical.
Had the worst experience at Li Qun restaurant last night. Waited over an hour to be seated, despite reservations (only to get there and have them say "oh, we don't take reservations." Service was terrible, duck was mediocre, and there were many hidden fees, such as the "private room fee" that they didn't even tell us about! The set meals are a complete rip off, charging more than ordering directly off their menu. Disguising hygiene in the kitchen. This place is a TOURIST TRAP. I suggest DON'T EVEN BOTHER.
It beats me, why this place should be for someone on a budget?! A set for 2 comes with a price tag of 198 RMB and it won’t stop there, they basically charge for everything, even the water! People who had their share of Beijing Duck don’t need to bother. For tourists or to take visitors, it is an interesting place. It creates this one of a kind China experience with its decayed Hutong setting, the rough service and the actually decent food.
Definitely over rated! They may have the best roasted duck in town, but their location is inconvenient, and the service is awful; there's no waiting number, waitress shouting to call your name, it's too much chaos for a simple dinner or meal. And they literally rushed you out after you've eaten your duck! QUAKE out of here!
This place is a tourist scam! at least it looks like it is. True, it's tucked away, difficult to find, but don't expect something fancy, if it was not renowned, you'd look at it like a 3rd grade dirty chinese hole-in-the-wall place. And the duck is not that good, especially considering it's the same price as in some 'real' (clean) restaurant.
Tucked away and difficult to find, but a great destination for the more adventurous tourists on a budget. Great duck for good value and a very authentic Chinese restaurant in terms of good food served in a poorly maintained establishment and lack of service. www.lumdimsum.com
It's very nice for the 北京烤鸭, it's like making every single duck is really served for you, but not for the selected other food for the package.
A little over rated and getitng more expensive. Nice place to take visitors, if only for the walk.
